Typically when the masses think of a “bulldog” a dog like this doesn’t come to mind. The mainstream dog world believes a bulldog should be short nosed, fat and wrinkle with short legs. And when we’re talking about American Bulldogs, add a wide chest with its feet “pigeon toeing” in. It’s a shame and those breeders that cater to the masses by exaggerating minor breed type features should be ashamed of themselves.
.

But to me and to true bulldog men, this bully would be considered “typey” a word not known in mainstream English but in the dog world, it’s given to a dog that is exceptionally well proportioned, muscled, balanced (from front to back) and athletically toned.
.

With that being said, let’s examine in a little more detail what separates this bulldog from others. His nose isn’t pushed in as much (better breathing) with a squared up head. He has a deep barrel chest (anatomically speaking a dog with a chest like this is believed to have a stronger core, bigger lungs and heart capacity as well as a kick ass physique) and skeletal frame that is heavily muscled. He features a slightly angled, yet straight top line (allows the dog to efficiently utilize his core correctly for fast strong movements) with a thick neck. His frame would be considered “straight up and down” (no bowlegs or pigeon towing) with slightly angled stifles (technically a stifle is your dogs knees, a more angled stifle allows flexibility versus a straight one) and a well muscular rear end (for power when taking off)
.

These are the little things I personally look for when observing a dog. I guess its what separates me from the average dog enthusiast. And YES this dog is semi-stacking (in other words posing as would a body builder) but even the average dog lover can appreciate the beauty of this fine specimen, especially if you just finished reading my critique of the dog to better understand where I’m coming from.
.

Anyone can fill me in with info about him, it would be much appreciated. Let me know your thoughts after reading this post.
