Why wouldn’t someone want a smart dog? They’ll learn faster and will be trained quicker. Although there is truth to this, they’re is something most haven’t thought about when it comes to their SMART dog. When training begins and education evolves, the SMART dog will begin to see what they can and can’t get away with, always overthinking and trying to out smart you. They begin to seek short cuts and take more chances. I find that most dog owners don’t see the signs and allow behaviors to manifest where other issues will come about. They’ll recollect to themselves and make statements as such “he was SIT, STAYING correctly last week and now he’s not”

It is at this point that the SMART dogs owner will simply write it off as “my dog so SMART that he’s STUBBORN” where I’ll respond with, no fool aren’t you beginning to see the “SMART” dog might just be challenging you? It’s not that we don’t want a SMART dog, if you begin to see how my theory is theorizing then you’ll begin to see that the SMART dog is more work on both the owner and trainer to deal with. In the end what we really want is a dog that will learn to follow directions and commands.

Let’s steer this SMART DOG issue into today’s perspective where dogs are much like an only child in a family unit. Our pets have learned to take advantage of their owners and of situations making its owners, enablers. They’ve out SMARTED people while people have gotten gullible. Humans have open up their homes and allowed dogs the same freedoms and privileges that their humans counterparts share and SMART dogs have fully taken advantage of it, they’re SMART aren’t they?
